Avrum Lapin
President, The Lapin Group
AVRUM D. LAPIN, President, created The Lapin Group after two decades as a Senior Partner with The EHL Consulting Group. He has provided fundraising and strategic counsel to hundreds of clients in the United States and overseas for over thirty years. Mr. Lapin brings decades of extensive experience and an international reputation, driven by an in-depth knowledge of the ever-evolving environment for nonprofits. He is a recognized expert in evaluating the changing priorities and giving patterns of major individual and institutional donors. He has guided a variety of educational, health care, social service, cultural, and faith-based organizations to achieve their fund and leadership development objectives.
Often praised by clients for his high energy and attention to detail, Mr. Lapin thoroughly enjoys immersing himself in client organizations for the duration of their campaign, enabling them to meet their goals. His fundraising expertise and years of experience in campaign and leadership development are invaluable assets to successful initiatives. He has posted numerous articles and op-eds for eJewishPhilanthropy.com, the JTA blog, The Forward, as well as the Jerusalem Post, Philadelphia's Jewish Exponent, Philadelphia Business Journal, Fund Raising Management, American Benefactor, and other local and national publications.
He provides professional development and training seminars to volunteer and professional nonprofit leaders in the U.S. and in Israel, and speaks to international not-for-profit organizations, associations, and organizational leadership teams in cities throughout the US and around the world. He holds an M.S.W. in Community Organization and a B.A. in Political Science.
Ross Berkowitz has 20 years plus experience in the non-profit sector, including, most recently, founding and serving as Executive Director of an organization where he taught and mentored social entrepreneurs in the creation and development of their own ventures. His areas of expertise include strategic planning, fundraising, grant writing, community weaving, program evaluation, and leadership development. Beyond his professional roles, Ross has served as president and chair of multiple community organizations and coalitions. Ross holds a Certificate in Non-Profit Executive Management from The University of Pennsylvania School of General Studies, a MA in Jewish History from NYU and a BA in Religion from Vassar College.

Jill Dalin has served as both a director and a consultant to nonprofit organizations in the U.S. and overseas, working primarily in social services and education. She played a key role in the start-up of a number of initiatives, and enjoys shepherding projects from conception through implementation. Jill holds a B.A. in Political Science from Tufts University, and has extensive training in nonprofit administration and fundraising.

Karen Moses Kamens has a broad range of professional experiences within various nonprofit educational, research, and community health organizations for over three decades, and has been a fundraising consultant since 1999. A graduate of Emory University, she has served in a variety of volunteer and leadership positions for the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, and is actively involved with several local nonprofit community organizations.

Nancy Mariani brings a highly motivated spirit and vast professional experience in office management, administrative support and customer service to our team. In her previous roles, she has been responsible for assisting in operational management, inside sales, and credit and collections. With over 10 years office management experience, her organizational skills and technical background are a major contribution to the daily operation of our firm.

Abigail Trusty has most recently worked as an Executive Director of a community-based youth non-profit and has experience working with a wide range of nonprofit organizations. Her expertise in fundraising, marketing, and community outreach helps to serve The Lapin Group’s clients to reach their development and management goals. Abigail has a BA in Religious Studies from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a MS in Jewish Communal Services and Non Profit Management from Gratz College.

Susan W. Marks has over 25 years of not-for-profit Institutional Advancement experience with a broad range of skills including fund-raising and a particular expertise in Board building. She has created numerous major gift, endowment building and annual giving programs.She has worked with high powered volunteer committees and professionals to re-brand agencies and institutions and design and write Capital Campaign and Annual Giving materials. Susan is well versed in event planning, She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a BA degree in American Civilization and Secondary Education.
